How are y’all doing? Sorry I haven’t blogged much lately. I have been up to my ears with college courses. I am taking 16 credit hours this semester. What was I thinking? I have ten prerequisite classes I need for the paramedic to RN transition program I am going into. After 20 years on the ambulance, I decided it was time to further my education.

So far I’m doing pretty well. I received an A on my first Nutrition exam this week. I feel like this is my toughest class this semester. I am going to take a few classes this summer, so my fall semester will be easier. Just have to survive this semester first.

I will continue writing once I have completed school. I still haven’t decided if I’m going to continue the Reaper Series, or start my new set of books, the Flynn Bowen Series. I have plenty…

Update on Revenge of the Reaper

I apologize to everyone for not posting much lately. I’ve been swamped with going through red line edits for Revenge of the Reaper. The book is shaping into the best one I’ve written yet. I am sad to see the series end, but don’t fret, I will continue writing books. I have several more in the works and don’t plan on stopping writing anytime soon. As soon as I have a firm release date, I will let you all know. Thank you so much for reading my books. I am humbled and appreciate each and everyone of you.

CPR Does Make a Difference

Recently there was a young, and healthy female marathon runner that suffered a sudden cardiac arrest during a marathon. Bystander CPR was initiated until the paramedic’s were able to arrive. In a skillful manner, they began resuscitation efforts on the young woman, and was able to get her heart restarted. She was taken to a hospital via air ambulance, and is talking with family. I’m sure this young woman has a long and hard road of recovery ahead of her, but she is going to recover.

I wanted to share this with you all to express the importance of bystander CPR. Most of you may think that it’s the medications, the cardiac monitor’s, and the advanced airway placements that save people’s lives. I’m here today to tell you that isn’t true. A Day on the Boo Boo Bus

There are times in my career that I’m thankful I chose to become a paramedic. More often than not, we take people to the hospital in the ambulance that really don’t need it. But that’s what we you. You call, we haul. On a recent shift, I had a call for a diabetic patient. Her blood sugar was low, but she was still coherent, and able to drink. We had her family prepare several glasses of orange juice, loaded with sugar. After a few glasses, he blood sugar rose to an appropriate level. As it always happens with diabetics, she didn’t want to go to the hospital. I explained to her the need to see her primary care physician, and then she began to apologize for bothering us.

I couldn’t believe my ears. This woman apologized for bothering us? She had a true medical emergency, and she’s apologizing for calling 911?…

Exciting News!

I am happy to announce that I have just submitted the first draft for Revenge of the Reaper, the final book in the Reaper Series, to my publisher. The moment I hit the send button, excitement shot through me. It’s a wonderful feeling when I complete another novel.

This may be the end of the Reaper Series, but I have several more books planned. It’s my hope to continue writing and entertaining you all. I can’t thank you all enough for reading my books. It’s very humbling.

We’re shooting for a May release on Revenge of the Reaper. I will keep you all updated on the editing progress.
